Privacy Policy

Figs & Honey is a small practice on Salt Spring Island, run by me, Lisa Sliwowska. I collect as little information as possible, I only use it to reply to you and run my practice, and I never sell it to anyone.

What I collect

When you use the contact form. Your name, your email address, and whatever you write in your message. Depending on the reason you choose, the form may also ask for a few details relevant to your enquiry — a wedding date, venue and party size, or preferred retreat dates and number of guests. I use this only to answer you.

When you join my mailing list. Your first name and email address. I use these to send occasional news, offers, and my monthly giveaway. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can leave at any time.

When you simply browse. Nothing that identifies you. This site has no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking pixels. My host keeps standard server logs for security and reliability.

Services I rely on

Running this site means a few trusted companies handle small pieces of information on my behalf:

• Formspree — delivers the contact form to my inbox.
• Mailchimp — stores my mailing list and sends the newsletter.
• Cloudflare Turnstile — a spam check on the contact form, so I do not get flooded by bots.
• Google Maps — the map on my contact page is embedded from Google, which may set cookies when it loads.
• Square— handles bookings, gift certificates, and payments. These happen on Square's own secure pages, under their privacy policy. I never see or store your card details.
• Vercel — hosts the website.

Some of these companies are based outside Canada, which means your information may be stored or processed in another country and be subject to the laws there.

How long I keep it

I keep enquiries for as long as I need them to look after you as a client, and mailing list details until you unsubscribe or ask me to remove you.

Your choices

You can ask me what information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, ask me to delete it, or withdraw your consent to hear from me — at any time, and without giving a reason. Just write to me at info@figsandhoney.com and I will take care of it.

Cookies

This site does not use cookies to track you. The only cookies that may be set come from the embedded Google map on the contact page, and from the Cloudflare spam check that protects the contact form.

Children

This website is not directed at children, and I do not knowingly collect information from them. Treatments for younger clients are arranged directly with a parent or guardian.

Changes to this policy

If I change how I handle information, I will update this page and change the date at the top.
